IN THE WARMTH OF WOOD

Kaveh & Azy contacted me in May of 2021 inquiring about designing a weekend home for them and their young family. Their newly purchased property, bordering a ski club, would be the perfect spot for weekends and vacation time in every season. Function and practicality were high on the wish-list. They envisioned a warm and inviting space where the whole family could relax, play, and enjoy meals together. Completed one year ago, Kaveh told me this decision has been the best one they’ve ever made!

A single level home with, 2300 ft2 on the main floor features a wood-burning fireplace in the open-concept main living, dining and kitchen area. A generous mudroom accessed from a covered breezeway is a great ‘drop-zone’ for an active life with young children. The primary bedroom with ensuite and a second bedroom, also with an ensuite are off a wide central hall. The property’s natural grade drop allowed us to get lots of natural light into the lower level for 4 bedrooms, 2 family baths, media & games space and utilities.
